The Golden Pillars training is a part of a system of Qigong called Jingui Golden Shield Qigong. There are 5 physical levels of training, the abdomen, torso, head, arms/hands, and legs. Each of the 5 levels is taught separately. I have been teaching this system of qigong for the past 6 years and have found tremendous growth in health and wellness from the training and instructing. It is a joy to share this tradition with people interested in cultivating their energy and wellness. More information can be found about the system at www.jingui.com. "The Golden Pillars training strengthens the kidneys, liver and spleen organs as well as the muscles, tendons bones, and meridians of the legs and feet.
Golden Pillars aims to open the meridians of the legs and feet thus enabling more qi to move through those muscles and tendons enhancing circulation. It also aims to integrate the mind into the lower section of the body providing grounding for the mind and stabilizing emotional imbalances.
Golden Pillars is a dynamic 7-10 intensive training system designed to improve the health strength, flexibility, and resilience of ones legs, feet, ankles and knees. This training can be very helpful for those who feel their legs/knees weakening, for athletes who want to enhance their performance, or for anyone wishing to develop this region of the body. Golden Pillars is an approximate 7-10 month training program, depending on the individual student."
The cost of the training is $100 a month plus training herbs and tools which vary but will average $20/month. Classes will be held twice a month and students will be expected to practice the training 3 times a week. The training takes about 30 minutes a session. Students will be accepted after a brief interview.

Greetings Friends,
Back when I started studying Golden Shield Qigong almost 7 years ago. I had heard that in addition to Jingui Golden Shield Qigong, Dr. Zhang had a whole other system of fitness/qigong/wellness/taichi that he had been working on and comprising for many years. This system has come to be known as I-Fit 150 for short and Intended Evolution Fitness 150 as its full title.
There is now a series of four videos on Youtube where Dr. Zhang and a senior instructor talk about and introduce the I-Fit 150 system. Sometime before the end of the year Leslie and I will teach an I-Fit seminar.

116 Years Mature Bagua Master Lu Zijian
This Master in the youtube clip is a guy that Dr. Zhang has mentioned a couple times as an example of longevity. It is a great clip and you can find other earlier clips of Master Lu when he was 93 and he looks the same.

Introductory Talk and Demonstration on Golden Shield Qigong

I will be starting a new Golden Shield Class on March 3, 2010. This level of training is an 8-12 month course and will be open to all interested. Please spread the word.
To support that starting class. I will be doing a free introductory talk and demonstration on Golden Shield Qigong on February 17, 2010. This talk will begin at 6:45pm at the Multnomah Friends Meeting house (see link).
The talk will be roughly 45 minutes.
All are welcome.
